Is there such a thing as a short throw clutch pedal? The travel seams to be really long now that I have the 997SSK.

 

Never seen one. Short-throw shifter, yes.

 

I agree, the clutch pedal travel is insanely long.

 

For BMWs you can buy an adjustable clutch stop, but I've never seen it for a Porsche.

 

Luckily the engineers who designed these decades-long race winning performance machines got it right. I would guess the thousands of race wins (not to mention the legions of us who track them) find it acceptable. If it gets to be too much you can always get a tip. They work pretty well too.

Nope. Mine are perfect.

 

I installed the 997SSK (Short Shift Kit) and think the clutch pedal is too long now. They matched stock.

Part of the problem may be that the clutch doesn't engage as soon (I may need a new a new clutch soon.) Hope not...

 

I think you might just need a new clutch soon. It is probably wearing down and getting "high" or "tall" on the engagement point. I installed the 997 short shift kit on my 996 just a couple weeks ago and that did not affect the distance of travel on my clutch pedal.
