H&R Spacer question....

H&R Spacer question....
I just called wheel enhancement to find out if they carried H&R spacers. They told me there was a problem with them "keeping torque" on the bolts.
Has anyone heard of that? Also who here is running 7mm on the front and 15mm on the rear on a C2/C4. Any problems?
I know porsche makes 17mm for the rear. Are they too big without rolling fenders?
Thanks,
Corey

spacers
Corey,
I run Porsche 17mm spacers in the rear of my narrow body -99 C4 without rolled fenders, or problems. Car has ROW 030 and wheels are stock 10x18 with ET 65mm. Looks just right.
Up front: 5mm aftermarket spacers with Porsche GT3 bolts (red collar), which are 5mm longer than stock C2/C4 bolts.
7mm in the front would look even better, but I was afraid it would disturb geometry and steering too much.
5/17mm front/rear is from Porsche´s own book.
I would not buy non Porsche spacers for the rear, since, with the integrated pin bolts, they´re under great stress while driving. The front spacers are just chims without any structural load, so here any decent aftermarket product will be OK. The bolts do all the work up front.

What do you mean the integrated bolt pins?
Does the 17mm ones use the stock bolts and convert you to studs? Can you send me a link or a picture of what the porsche 17mm factory one looks like.
Thanks,
Corey...

I actually just found a pic of the porsche one, I guess it does switch you to studs from bolts. The question I have is what size tires do you have. Porsche seems to only recommend the 17mm with the 265 not 285 18" tires or all 17" wheels.

What wheels?....and assume we're talking reg narrow body?
Anyway.......nothing wrong with 7mm in the front, 17mm in the rear if you are running OE 8J & 10J 18" Carerra style rims.......that produces an effective offset of 45 & 48 which is OK without fender prep even in a a slightly lowered car.
Here's 'about' the same thing in offsets (43 & 50) in HREs with a slightly lowered suspension............stock 225/40...285/30.

Corey,
Sorry for being slowin responding, but I see you´ve figured out the bolt/stud issue.
I run "the small" 265/35 in the rear. I´m not sure if there is enough room for 285´s in combination with 17mm spacers on an early 996 narrow body like mine. But I hear face-lift cars should be OK.
For those who don´t have a picture handy,
Porsche 17mm spacers (left) looks like this:
