Exclamation Let's talk about prices around the world...

Hello from Greece.
You Americans must be very happy about the prices you pay for your Porsches!
Here is what we pay in Greece.

Todays prices are:
Boxster 2.7 - 66.990 euro (83.737$)
Boxster 3.2S - 78.840 euro (98.550$)

997
Carrera 2 - 109.330 euro (136.662$)
Carrera 2S - 120.970 euro (151.212$)
Cabrio C2 - 123.260 euro (154.075$)
Cabrio C2S - 134.290 euro (164.862$)

Cayenne
3.2 - 74.700 euro (93.375$)
S - 93.550 euro (116.934$)
turbo - 149.050 euro (186.312$)

Note that 1.00 euro = 1.25 $ US

These prices are for very base cars ( no sun-roof no nothing....)
And the second hand cars are not so
low-budget either!
For a good low km 2002-3 996 C2 today you have to pay 90.000 to 105.000 euros! (112.500$ to 131.250$)
For example I pay for my 2002 C2 with a lot of options 95.000euro (118.750$) one year ago....
At the same time the car base price is 107.000euro (133.750$) and with the same options as my car have 128.000 euro (160.000$) !!!
So you Americans must be veeery happy for the prices you pay for your cars....!

Regards
Lefteris

Hi Lefteris,

Thanks for the price list. I will enjoy my car and won't complain about the gas prices($3.19 for 91 octane) in the SoCal area.

In Greece it is a BARGAIN for Porsches compared to Thailand's pricing

This is just pricing for 997s... This will give you an idea how crazy it is... Taken straight from the Porsche site.

911 CARRERA (997) 13,600,000.00 ($ 340,000)
911 CARRERA S (997) 14,700,000.00 ($367,500)
911 CARRERA CABRIOLET (997) 14,900,000.00 ($372,500)
911 CARRERA S CABRIOLET (997) 16,200,000.00 ($405,000)

note: this is not my car pictured...

Now the big question is, how many Porsches they sell in Thailand per decade...!!!

Actually there are quite a bit of 996s/997s running around.

Every Sunday, there is a morning drive which brings out 20-30 911s. I'm actually looking to pick up a 996 c4s there soon...

Why are the prices so high around the world? Is the government taking a big chunk of change from the buyers?

I just ordered an 06 997S Club Coupe with X51, PCCB, NAV, Bose, 6 CD, mats, full leather, Sports Chrono, Leather Sun Visors, Special Paint and heated electric sport seats for a cost of about $116k US.
