A caliper with screened Logo... No Stickers here...
#6
Oh it's a lot of effort alright to get it right and cost(stencils are more expensive for some reason than stickers and you do waste a few), but I feel better having it OEM style than a sticker especially if I ever decide to track the car.
I used hi-temp engine enamel/ceramic paint and can even powerwash them without worry.
I had stickers when I did my boxsters calipers and upclose they just never looked right even with clear coat ontop.

Pretty simple,
1) get your calipers powder coated by sandoval.
2) clean calipers face where logo will be with rubbing alcohol
3) apply stencil and rub it so that it adheres very well and remove application paper
4) tape area surrounding stencil with blue painters tape to prevent accidental painting of caliper facing
5) get a clean brush and paper plate(I used a brush similar to the one G2 uses in it's caliper painting kit). Spray hitemp black into the plate and then use the brush to lightly cover the stencil letter, do not put too much paint on or it will bleed. Clean brush with paint thinner and dry.
5) wait 10 minutes and repeat step 4
6) using a heat gun on low and 12" away dry the area for about 5 minutes to "skin" the paint
7) wait about 20 minutes then carefully remove the stencil
8) wait 1 hour and rub the letter with a paper towel to remove any flaky areas and then clean with rubbing alcohol on a paper towel
9) clean caliper facing with wet paper towel and let dry overnight
note: If you mess up at any point before step 8 you can simply use paint thinner to remove the lettering(then clean with water and alcohol) and put on a new stencil(I wasted 4 stencils on 2 calipers figuring this procedure out)
But in the end the look is amazing, while stickers look smoother, the painted on logo looks totally different, almost embossed in. It's something that just doesn't come across in a picture, but well worth the effort if you have your calipers powdercoated and they off the car.

I am thinking it is the reverse of the vinyl PORSCHE script... Corey thanks for the step by step I will play around with this and possibly replace the vinyl decals with your method. Thanks again for the info!
