Choosing between 2 996's

Help!

I'm about to purchase a 996 and am torn between these 2 great cars - so if I put personal personal preference aside, is one of these cars worth more than the other one (they are both costing the same to me)? Both cars have sports seats, 3-spoke wheel, PSM, sound package and FPSH)

2000/X 996 C2 with full GT3 kit, gt3 alloys, sunroof, sports suspension, gold wheel centres, 18000 miles

2001/Y 996 C4 with turbo 1 alloys, PCM, Litronics, Small alluminium pack, 24000 miles

C2 is in Artic Silver with Metropole blue leather
C4 is in Seal Grey with Black leather

Thanks in advance,
Pete.

many thanks for the feedback. I agree either would be great cars.

Both cars are actually MY2001 - the C2 was registered November 2000 and the C4 in April 2001.

I thought the Metropole Blue leather was a favourite - a little softer than the full-on black interior???

its a very tough call...I'm partial to C4's since I have one...but that aside C4's typically cost more, plus it has PCM and litronics...

The c2 is nice, but seems like the only advantage over the c4 is that its 6k miles newer, sunroof and full gt3 kit...

I'd go with the C4, for a some extra doh you can get a body kit and rims to make it look like the c2, no amount of money is gonna give you awd in the c2, and PCM is all but impossible to retrofit...

Hi Pete

I would opt for the C2 with GT3 body kit, if you brought the C4 you would want the body kit after a period of time - fact. Especially if you visit sites and get feedback from others.

Don't worry about the metropole blue, it's really dark and you are right it does soften the look, it's a good combo with AS. You will pick up on what's okay in the PANAM is not the favorite in Euro land. Here in the UK, metropole blue is fine, if not good.

Let us know the outcome and get some pic's up.

Good luck.

That is a tough one... I personally like the Seal Grey over the Arctic but I love the Arctic (I have one)... Hands down the Leather Black leather is a better choice. Especially if you want to do mod's. The Aero kit is a must have IMO so you will end up paying for this one way or another. If the condition interior, exterior, records are the same the miles are not that big of a deal.

If you have the money I would go Seal Grey and by an Aero Kit from F/A!

The mileage on both of these cars is very similar, the 01 C4 is a better value, a year newer and a more expensive car, a GT3 kit can be added at anytime for a minimal cost, the kits are being sold very cheap now since the 02 03 04 look.

i will vote for C2.
first, C2 has sport suspension which is stiffer than c4. i like the feeling of the sport suspension.
second, C2 with GT3 body kit is nice. for that option looks better. u will need to spend some money for nice paint job and kit if u want to add gt3 for ur C4.
third, i never like the feeling of driving FWD. 2WD always more fun.

The GT3 kit can be added and done well by a good shop, suspension can be upgraded, a C4 is not FWD the car is 4WD, thats the main question if the buyer wants 2 or 4 WD.

C4 gets my vote. It's a more expensive car, and I love my PCM as I am sure you will too. A body kit is easily added if you want that GT3 look, but AWD cannot be retrofitted.

Having just purchased a used C2 myself, I think in the future you'll have a much easier time selling the C2 w/ GT3 kit than a stock C4.

Many thanks to you all - I'm still very torn between the two cars but you're right C4 wins 7 votes to 4. I haven't driven the C4 yet so will do so today and decide which I prefer to actually drive...
(forgot to mention the C4 also has electric seats and parking sensors).

I've also agreed prices on both deals to have the Porsche sports exhaust fitted with the new loud/quiet dash switch (which can now be retrofitted to all earlier models)... as I think this is more of a must-have than even the GT3-kit???

The bottom line is I know I'll be pleased with either, so will be sure to post up some pics once I have the right car!
