What would you pay... Caliper color change

What would you pay to have your calipers powder coated, rebuilt i.e. New boots, bleeder screws, New Porsche logo etc. Changed to just about any color.

I am in the process of doing a set for my car, just wanted to get an opinion on what you think this service would be worth to you. The company I used to use does not offer this service anymore but the person that owns the company turned into a good friend over the years he has given me all of the tips and tricks to do the rebuild myself. I just wanted to know what you guys would pay to have your Black calipers change to (insert color here) calipers.

I have experience with these types of hobby projects, I enjoy doing it as long as it is worth my time. So realistically what would you be will to pay for this type of service with materials and labor? Or is this something that no really cares for as far as an upgrade

Sand as long as you are cheaper than Porsche, you will be suprised what some people will pay for a cosmetic color change.

New 996 Red Calipers are about $300 ea. and you can clean up the black ones and sell them on eBay for about $200-250 ea. So new calipers end up being about
$50-100 each.

This is what I did with my 996, but I got almost as much for my black ones on eBay as I paid for the new ones. I ended up with 4 red ones for about $100 and an afternoon to swap them out

I now have silver ones and I want red (grass is always greener...)
Do the silver ones go for the same price as black?

Powder coating should run $35-50/caliper if done correctly. The units must be properly cleaned first, and the seals need to be masked or replaced when done. Get the decals online if needed, and the shop will do that once the coatings have completed curing, and before clear coat.

We're looking into this too, but the up front cleaning and seal replacement is not a fun task.

Sandoval to answer your original question it would have to be in the $250-$300 range.. I did the same thing as Gary, purchased new Boxster Calipers for around $1100.. sold my old Black set on ebay for $850... plus the obvious labor to swap them.. The problem is the down time for guys that don't have a extra set, and I would rather pay a $100-$200 more for none rebuilt new factory Boxster S calipers..

Do Boxster S calipers fit Carrera 4 brakes with no extra modification?

I believe that Carrera 4 and Carrera 2 brakes are the same. However, I also think that Carerra 4S brakes are the same as the TT.

So you should be able to do this mod on a regular C4 but on a C4S you already get red turbo brakes.
