Jacquemond Body Kits...
Hey there...
I have a 2000 996 C4 Cab, and have always liked the looks of the 993 turbo and the C4S... Not really in a position to go and sell mine and get a new C4, so I was looking into the Jacquemond body kit upgrades. (http://www.jacquemond.com/designbyjacquemond.htm)
Does anyone here have any experience with these, the quality, fittment, especially the Diams kit. I've read that the 997 kit is kind of a bad idea from the standpoint that it's kind of a poser.
Does changing the nose and rear make a negative impact on resale? I'm thinking that if done well, it's a good thing, but I've been known to be wrong sometimes!
Thanks so much,

Looks really good IMO.
Mods are known to decrease a car's value. Buyers usually like to have an immaculate factory car. However if you plan to keep the car for a long period of time it should not be a problem.

Thanks for sharing that site! Devalue my "arsss" that body kit is the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen on a 911! The so-called "conversion" to 997 is more like an "upgrade" above and beyond what ANY 997 S is....that extreme widebody rear fenders and dimensions they choose on the 996 in that kit make it look better than any other factory porsche I've ever seen (except perhaps the GT1). I wonder what the price is....do you guys know anything else about the compnay making this kit???? Unbelievable
--- Kevin
PS: Most 911's with "tastefull" body kits or factory-style upgrades...bring more $$$ in the auto auctions than even a flawless stock equivelent as long as the body kit is done professionally, particularly "widebodies."

I have been in touch with them before. I don't know of the quality, but it would be very expensive for the parts. The body work would also be a lot. Might be better off selling you 996 and buying a 997. I would guess in the 7 to 10K for the stuff from them then add the lights and other stuff from Porsche and then add the body shop work... maybe like 15K.

I saw that conversion kit on ebay, front was 4K and rear for 3K. A while back someone post a turbo with a 997 front conversions, personally I think it looks awesome.
If you plan on keeping your 996 with a clear tile and investing another 10K to 15K on bodywork and new wheels. Others spent money on super charger for 11K it all depends on what you want. If you like it and you have the extra cash go for it.

i'd prob. just do some of the kit, so that it's not like a total conversion, rather just picking up on the awesomeness of the 997.
it'd be like someone just putting a GT3 spoiler on a C2...no worries.

Am I wrong.
It is like the SC. If these mods were in the 5 to 6K area lots of people would jump on them, but at 12 to 15K..........? Just sell and get a TT or just sell and get a 997.

I think I like the rear end. That must be a lot of body work to make that fit. Certainly not a s simple as the front, where you replace the fenders and bumper cover. The rear is much wider and integrated into the top. I have a cab. That would be easier because the rear fenders are not the same piece as the top. Still looks like a lot of body work. There are a couple guys on here that have done wide body conversions.
