by the way, my dealer is now recommending 0W-40 again. they kind of flip flop from time to time depending on what porsche is saying. they were suggesting another brand (besides Mobil 1) a few months ago (i think it was castrol syntec) with a 5W-40 viscotisity. now they're back to Mobil 1 0W-40 again.

where's your catch can?

good news. i just checked my intake and boost and there isn't as much oil as in the previous pics i posted. i guess the over filling made the problem worse
here's the crankcase breather

yikes, the oil lead and not not having the catch can really makes me nervous. Unfortunately there isn't anybody in toronto that knows the porsche engine really well. I flew Mike from evo up to do the install. I wish he mentioned this to me when he did it. or even better evo included it in their set up. I just got my first cel light and will be bringing it into the dealership today. wish me luck.

I talked to my installer yesterday. He is suspecting that my diverter valve may be the fault. Apparently there is a new billet DV on the way from EVO. This would explain the loss of the high rpm power surge as the DV might be puking compressed air under load. It's shame we can't just use a high end blow off valve instead. I know it'll throw a CEL, but it seems like there are a lot more proven options for BOV's.

The bypass valve is very easy to test whether it is working or not. The one EVO uses is more than adequate for the pressure you are using. They work fine even at 10 psi of boost. Don't fall for buying a new valve if you don't ned to.
Remove one end of the valve from the intake tube and plug the intake hole and the open end of the valve. Test drive. No increase in boost indicates that you have nothing wrong with the valve.
Even easier to test whole system....remove intake tube from SC and cap the inlet to the SC tightly so no air can escape.- Introduce pressure to the system (10 psi) with a compressor through the vacuum hose from the EGA valve connection. If you have any leaks, you will find them immediately.
I don't know what's wrong with your installer, but they should be able to identify the exact cause of any boost loss within minutes. The amount of boost you get has nothing to do with tuning, MAF, etc. Either belt is slipping or you have a leak or blockage or extreme heat after the aftercooler if you are getting less boost that the pulley is designed to deliver.

I think that the installer suspects the the DV is "leaking" and is getting a new style (correct me if I'm wrong here) from EVO I would hope at no cost to DDog, but as qwik check they could use a Bosch TT or standard Bosch DV just to test it would take just a couple of minutes. Heres a good read on diverter valve face off's.

good news. the cel just went away. I filled it up with gas and added a fuel injector cleaner and then it went away. I didn't end up going to the dealership. the car still pulls hard and always great to drive. do you guys think I need to go to the dealership anyways?
