Replacing hood badge. I have questions.

I am replacing a dented in hood badge from a previous owner that did not know how to close the lid without pressing on the badge. I know that the badge is held on by two sleeves, but how do you remove them? I assume they are a one-time only use correct? Also, should I replace the rubber gasket while I have it apart? Finally, anyone have the correct part numbers handy?
Thanks,
Pat

It's either 8mm or 10mm. I've forgotten. I did it some time ago. It's easy to drop a fastner and difficult to retrieve. Also heat the rubber gasket in hot water or something so it's flexible enough to fit evenly around the emblem. Oh, and be careful not to over tighten the fastners on the stems. They snap easily. The torque spec would be "snug"

You can ask me how I know all this, but I think you can guess.

Don,

There's no better way to learn than from experience and experience and experience and experience. Nothing quite like making a mistake to teach experience. :-)
