2000 996 with cracked head
As it seems everyone has validated my fears of the cost of fixing a crack head vs the value of the car is not worth it.
Can anyone help me with what the car may be worth as is.
I have a 2000 911 Carrera with 3.4L with Tiptronics. It has the GT-2 body kit and a 103,000 miles. Black with Tan interior.
Thanks for any help on this issue. i am in Georgia. USA

This is a highly subjective question/scenario. Clearly it's "worth it" for someone. Perhaps the someone isn't you, but a cracked head is certainly fixable either by replacement or repair. Cost is going to vary depending on where you are and whether you'll have to ship the head or whether it can be done locally. Just be careful of who you're listening to when they tell you "it's not worth it"... Good luck

Historically, the selling prices of rollers have hovered around $5k on the avg with the most upper extreme being around $8k. There's a member's friend that recently picked one up for $2700.
People that buy these kinds of rollers tend to look past any upgrades the car might have, like a body kit and represents no additional value to it.

'course, this also means, well, probably means, the car has little value as a roller, too.
You'll have to search out a salvage business that specializes in Porsches and ask what it will give you for the car. You might explore businesses outside of Greece. Perhaps in Germany, France, both of which have a large number of Porsches and thus could have a demand for a roller.
And it could be that you could find a place that could fix the car, although you'd have to ship the car there and back or remove the engine and ship the engine there and back.

There is a "pretty good" shop in Cleveland, GA. Not sure if Jake does cylinder heads, probably does but if not he could give you some leads. Called Flat6 Innovations. Best I have ever heard of!
