Thought on a 99-00 996??
i was thinking of getting something in the next few months but i've decided between a 02 m3 or a 99-00 996....
both rides would get tricked out to the max......but i'm leaning more towards a p-car then a bimmer at this time......what do you og guys on here think?
i would get a TA kit along with wheels and drop off hand.......

Let's review the facts:
1. Porsche's 996 is a true sports car built to have mods to meet all your
expectations.
2. A 99-01 996 weighs 500 lbs less than a M-3...think what a performance
advantage that is from the get-go....HP/Wt ratio.
3. Best of all? You will pick up more wild women with a Porsche....

Im in the same boat as you my friend, I also did a little question and answer with m3 owners and even people that own both the m3 and c2 99-00 and they tell me the porsche is more reliable and m3 has problems. both cannot go wrong, m3 is more practical if that is what you are looking for.

I know a couple of guys who just stepped up from their M3 and loving every minute of it. Why would you back track and get a M3 when you can step up with the porsche?? M3's are nice cars(heavy, piggish) but a true sports car is the 911. But drive both and see which one is more you.

I agree. The Porsche has back seats. I have 3 kids and use the seats all the time.
I went through the same decision. If you don't get the 911 you will regret it. I have never regretted my choice, but I knew that if I bought the M3 (BTW a great car) I would look with envy every time I saw a 911.
