Gabo2k is infamous around these parts
I will have a factory turbo rear bumper for sale this weekend. I'll be asking around $400.00. I live in North Hills, California.

If anyone is interested, let me know.

Do you know how much this would cost?

Maybe I'll have it done.

Call Raj at Venice Collision Experts, in West LA, on Venice BLVD. He does them regularly and will have pics and examples of the work at his shop. Not sure exactly how much he charges, but he has reasonable rates.

I just called the shop, and they quoted me $1,100.00 and a whole week with my car.

In my opinion, that's a little pricey... considering I can get a ready to fit turbo bumper from Mashaw for around $1,250.00

Here is my OEM TT bumper that was modified to fit on C2. The work was done by different body shop but the price that VCE quoted you is about the same what I paid 3 years ago.
I’m converting my car to 997 so bumper is for sale, if you are interested PM or email me.
Wing, front bumper and rockers are for sale too.

Does that include the Bumper? Yeah, but then you have to paint as well right? Wasnt that price INCLUDING prep and paint? Do you know how much prep work is needed for aftermarket parts? It may be another $1000 for paint and prep of the MASHAW bumper.

Hi Misha,
Thanks for posting those pics. Do you know what modifications your shop had to do to make it fit?
I've looked at pictures of Don's silver cab and xdream's yellow cab and both installed the oe TT rear without modifications and the only area that is slightly off is that the bumper doesn't quite line up with the wheel well arch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Stan

BTW which rockers do you have on your car?

the benefit of a real TT wing versus the Mshaw, i believe the real TT is polyurethane and can handle some impact, rock chips and will not warp as much from exhaust heat. the mshaw is either fiberglass or low pressure injection molded, which will crack at any impact (like backing in while parking) and when rocks come up at speed it will chip easy. also after a while the fiberglass will change shape from the heat coming from the exhaust. get a real TT bumper for sure. as for how the modification is done, go to a bumper shop that does plastic welding and a a 1/2" sliced away from it like the shape of a thin piece of pizza neariest the wheel well(triangle shape).

Stan, my bumper was modified exactly as Eric described by cutting thin piece near the wheel well.
