roof transport system (rack)

does anyone have one?
I know its ugly but the 996 is my only car, and the utility is appealing.

Shoot me a pm if you want to sell the roof rack. Right now I am still researching on how it is. Its either buying the roof rack or selling the 911 --- for a m3 or m5.

My 05 4-Runner V8 is my truck and tows the SC to the track now. My wife loves Audi's and is on her second A6. I'll shoot you a PM regarding the rack. I've had an 03 e46 M3 and I must say that you probably should not go this direction.

I was also looking into a roof rack as a way to carry another set of rims and tires to the track. Something like this:

Early Apex -
That’s nice you have a real truck! I'm in NYC, parking is expensive as it is, so the 911 is the only car for me (only use it on the weekends anyways). The reason I consider a roof rack or a m3/m5 was for those trips when I have an extra passenger, or have a need to carry big boxes or the occasional snowboard/ski trip. As you can see, I could always use a 4 runner too! It would be nice to put stuff up on the roof. I'll send you a pm on the racks.
BTW, do you know what the length of the rack is? I was wondering if it can be stored in the back seat area and I can take it out and install it when I need them. Also, any idea how long it takes to install the rack?

Todera,

It's entirely possible to place a set of rims/tires inside the 911. I done it before with my 18s.

1 rear and 1 front in the rear, 1 rear in the passenger seat and 1 front in the trunk. So you might be able to get away without a rack.

Do make sure you clean your wheels and wrap them in many jumbo size garbage bags before attempting! You don't want dirty tires mess up your 911!
