Problem with the headlight switch? can't turn all the way
Hello everyone,
i am having a weird problem that i have been only able to find one person who has it ... ( see this youtube link
)
So basically, i can only turn my headlight switch once and that's it, can't turn further. Fog light works (the pulling + turn) and the left side can be 'clicked' twice. Only the right side can be 'clicked' only once but on the switch, it shows me that the lowbeam is on the second 'click'. It feels blocked. Is that normal? I don't even know if my headlights are fully on or not. My car is a US 966 that has been converted into Canadian standards (day running light) as per 'factory' or something. So basically, my projectors (low beams) are always on it seems but i do not find the low beams bright at all at night.
Is this a problem or i am just stupid? my car is currently stored (its snowing and winter here in canada , montreal).
Thank you eveyone for your time.

After twice trying to repair and reassemble my headlamp switch, I gave up and bought a new one. I had similar limited functions as you have had, like running lights always on (my '01 911 is a US version). I can say that the innards of the switch are quite complicated, meaning that if you get everything positioned .... just right! ... upon reassembly, it may still now work 100%. I've saved my old switch and when I've had enough single malt to lose my inhibitions, I may try again to fix it.
