996 only start with OBD connected

996 only start with OBD connected
Need help / advice with an 996 C4 tiptronic that won't start without OBD connected.
Symptoms:
Car won't start, but when connecting a simple OBD reader the car starts.
Keys can lock and unlock the car, dashboard light etc works fine even without OBD connected. Fuses under steering wheel ok. Brake switch ok.
Anyone that have had the same issue or have some ideas where to start troubleshooting?
