Could it be done with linoleum tiles and a sealer over all of it?

I havent, but i am sure at home depot they could tell you what you would need. Linoleum tiles would save you alot over a pro sealer company

My neighbor did the black/white checker board linoleum flooring in his garage. My personal opinion is that it doesn't really look that good especially because it's very hard on the eyes just looking at it.

Work in Progress

I have a 600sf garage that I have been just tossing around the idea of flooring. Unable to decide about the checker board. Lino is pricey. For mine it was in upwards of $900 just for the lino, that doesn't include prep or setting material. For the vinyl tiles, it was approximately $500 for the tiles and another $200 for the prep and setting. The nice thing about the vinyl tiles is that you can set them at 24" x 24" so not to be so hard on the eyes. But, I have heard horror stories about movement when you have your car up on a jack. That just doesn't sound too good to me.

I also looked into garage floor painting and that to me, is just a pain in the butt with all the acid washing I'd have to do. That is out.

I like the click tiles that a lot of folks sell, but I'd end up sinking in $6000. Uh...no, I don't think so. That buys me wheels. Priorities man!

I have opted now to a wall to wall, fully carpeted garage. A very good grade, indoor/outdoor carpet in a dark blue/gray for my garage is on order. It looks good, and has the added benefit of keeping the temperature stable and warmer in the garage. As soon as it's done, I'll post pictures.

Robyn
