CoreyNJ is infamous around these parts
One reason is in many cases the used parts have hidden repairs. In special cases those items are take off for upgrades such as a turbo bumper(people remove sometimes before even driving the car to do GT2 or Techart, very common) or wheels (same comment).

Where do you go from a GT3 bumper on a narrow body 996?

Every single used one I have ever seen has some repair done to them or actually are deformed when you look at them in the light.

And by the way everyone likes a bargain, just remember this are expensive cars and we like them perfect...

BTW, the AeroKit was a 7K option when the car was new, so 5K + paint is about the same as ordering it on the car (a rarety with porsche it usually costs a lot more to add options ater)

I'm sure the prices have come down some when I did mine. But if I recall I spent over $1500 for the front bumper alone........ Genuine Porsche

I would say if you go Genuine and a good paint shop you're going to be over 5K easy. If you go with the eBay CrAp-oLa and a "Hole-In-The Wall" body shop then you might get it done for under 3K.....

I have a Carbon Fiber wing so I can't go there to compare.....

John,
Take it from me and my brother, you can have genuine Porsche parts, but not pay 5-7k to upgrade your cars look. Board sponsors are selling great stuff at inexpensive prices all the time....Also takeoffs and people swapping parts make for good deals.

European Car just began a 996 GT3 conversion article. It's to continue over the next few months/issues.
