Question Need Your $0.02 on Hamann Wheels

Any opinions/comments on the 19" Hamann Design Edition wheels on a 996? Was thinking about swapping out my 18" SSR GT3 wheels b/c they just don't cut it for me anymore. Wanted to go for a different wheel other than the "norms" (Techart / HRE). The Cargraphics wheel is definitely a consideration as well.

Thx.

I am a fan of the Hamman wheels, I do not like thier aero bodykits, their wheels looks best on the BMW and Range Rovers IMO, I have seen them on Porsches in pictures and they look nice, have someone photoshop them on your car so you can see ahead.

There was a full custom orange paint full Hamann car (gullwing doors, carbon fiber intakes, full body kit, wheels, etc...) at a new showroom here. I'll snap some pics next time.
Im not a fan of the Hamann wheels

The Hamann wheels look decent but are very overpriced IMHO. Heck, everything from Hamann is overpriced. But if you like them, I say go for it. If you search the board, you will find a picture of a 996tt with a Hamann setup on it, including the wheels. Good luck and please let us know what you decide to do.

Great looking wheel that carries a very aggresive and different look. Very expensive as well. I called Hamann, Wheel Experts (Board Sponsor) and The Wheel Boutique and the best price I could find is right at $7000.00 for the wheels alone. The Design is a special edition wheel as well and one month ago there were Zero available in the US. Availability might be a problem if you damage a rim. Cargraphic has very aggresive offsets (three inch lip on a narrow body) along with immediate availability. A new set of Cargraphics with 305 25 19's will set you back about $5700.00 if you call around.

Oops...thought you meant the PG-3 wheels (I thought it was the only one they made for P cars!!)
That design edition wheel is HOT!!! looks like the BBS Challenge wheels on the Ferrari 360
What do people think of the Hamann front bumper fpr the TT?? Should I stick to techart type II or get the Hamann one?

The entire Hamann aerokit looks badass IMO! Love those ram air ducts on the sides of the wing. The CF roof skin is sweet!

msindi >> If you're going swap out your Techart bumper for the Hamann front then you've gotta go with the whole shebang! That badboy is one aggressive looking ****! I dig the roof spoiler even if it does retail for somewhere around $1,500.00! "Overpriced" is a subtle term to describe the prices on the Hamann aerokit. Sorry, but I don't bend over and enjoy taking it up the yin-yang when it comes to paying retail prices. Be sure to PM me if you do decide to switch and sell your Techart bumper.

If you ever get a chance, try to snap a few pics of that custom orange 996. Gullwing doors are tacky unless you're driving a Lambo.

Called my wheel connection buddies and they all told me to go with BBS LMs or the new HRE 8-series??? But my heart is still set on those Hamann Design Editions! Just looking for something different.

I have Hamanns on my other car and I love the way they look. They look great on bmw's, audi's and vw's, but not too sure about on a porsche though. I didn't think the looked aggressive enough for a 911.

Im actually getting HRE 8 series as soon as someone picks up my 542Rs!!
I want to keep my rear bumper and wing stock so was only thinking of Hamann front...
I also have the roof spoiler on my car but by Strosek (they all look the same anyway...only difference is $$$)

why not the HRE new competition wheels? (18, but only if you want performance light wheels)

if 19, go for 8-series HRE... it's damn nice looking...
I haven't seen one single car with 845 yet...
I believe there is only 1 board member with 8-series... and for sure u won't be seeing a lot of them on road

Thx for the link Arling. These pictures just don¡¦t do the wheels any justice. Guess I just have to see them in person. Poor guy received some royal reaming on his cab. Although I do second msindi¡¦s opinion on that Hamann front bumper. The eyelids IMO are tacky and makes the car look cheap. Swap out the wing & get rid of the SUV look and ¡§Voila!¡¨ . . .
