off topic - cost of opening a drag strip?
Has anyone ever explored the idea of opening a drag strip or have an idea of the cost involved (aside from the land)?
The only drag strip in my area (east coast) recently closed & the land was sold to a developer. The track was old, in terrible condtion, but was always packed. At $20.00 a head, it was a serious cash cow.
Probably a long shot, but what the hell.

I remember BIG Willie around these parts was trying to get Terminal Island to get re-opened back in the late 80's - early 90's..... Can't really say what was all involved but needless to say the deal fell through hence we all used the streets. . . . . "or something like that".

Not so much the cost of the land as the insurance costs I'm sure. Just like everthing else, just because you make them sign a release waiver doesn't exclude you from being named in a lawsuit.
