Audison Amp install....

Weekend mods continue....I got the Audison LRX 6.9 amp and it was just sitting in the trunk. So I rewired it and mounted to it to the floor of my C4 Cab...I used enough wire so that I can completely remove the floorboard to access the spare tire. The really cool thing about this amp is it has a reverseable input board so the RCA inputs can be mounted underneath the amp in a small cavity....the outputs and power are recessed on the opposite side so if you run the wires under, you have a completely clean install. Not only does it sound incredible, but it also is very well thought out and that made a very clean install....

can you cover the amp so it doesn 't get damaged when putting cargo in there?

i'm confused. i assumed that you mounted the amp to the bottom of the trunk and installed a carpeted false floor to flush mount the amp.

no, I was going to do that, but I actually installed it on the stock carpeted cover in the trunk..the spare tire cover...I have a C4 and maybe the C2 trunk is different, but the C4, C4S and TT have a carpeted cover over the spare tire which is on the floor of the trunk. I just mounted the amp to that cover...It just pulls out in case i need to gt to the spare.

okay, that makes sense. the C2's have the spare tire mounted to the back wall of the trunk. there is no false floor from the factory. worked out nicely for you though. i, or more specifically someone i will have to pay, will have to fabricate something and cover it with pcar carpeting.

you still happy with that sub? wish i could hear it. i'm kind of a bass freak. not sure one 8" would do it for me. i have the bose sub in there now and it "blose"

DD this sub is AMAZING...I love bass, it makes music so much enjoyable...I too thought 1 8" sub would not be enough...I was actually planning a way to do more subs until I got this thing installed..I am floored by the amount of low end this thing generates...WAY better than the Bose...You feel the bass with this, and it sounds like its coming from everywhere, not from the passenger footwell. I listen to all kinds of music from jazz to classical to rap to pop, and it sounds awesome on everything. Its a perfect compliment to the clear crisp Focal high end....In one word I would say the subwoofer sound "SOLID"...I have my amp on 7 and its LOUD....I always wonder am I pushing it too hard? is it supposed to go that loud? But there is NO distortion like you hear when the speakers cant handle the volume or the frequencies.
