I find that most well made modern cars are BETTER when driven regularly and often...for example...i wouldnt TOUCH a 6 year old car with under 10k miles on it. I had a friend who bought the identical 95 Rover as mine....I drove mine as much as I could...road trips, snow, sand dunes, etc...I had a great experience....never let me down. He had the opposite experience...he drove it liek once a week...was constantly getting a new battery because it would be driven so little it couldnt keep the battery from draining. He had driveshaft, suspension, and all kinds of mechanical failures, repeatedly....he hated his car...I LOVED mine...identical model...I drove mine...used synthetic oil and did regular upkeep. He never drove his, garage queen, used the jiffy lube "house" oil and let it sit and just looked at it.

No experience yet, but I am planning on buying a 2002-2004 996 C4S for use as a daily driver. Haven't heard anything negative from the people that I have spoken to about this.

Although I mostly telecommute, I drive my '01 c2 daily. It's a joy. I would hate driving it less. Imo, drive it and enjoy it. There's no point in keeping it in the garage.

My SC has a 10K motor and that's "cheap" for a mild race motor. I cringe to think of the bill when we convert it to a 2.8L, twin plug, monster.

My 996 is my DD. Absolutely no problems, couldn't be happier with it in this capacity.

Sure there is....... You don't want to keep it outside when you're done do you?

I have a 2002 C2 with 119,000 miles on it. At one point, it was the highest mileage 2002 Carrera in the world. But, I switched jobs and my commute went from 110 miles per day to just 20.

I had a water pump let go on it at about 94,000 miles. I just attribute it to one of those random problems that just happens. Other than that, there haven't been any problems.

I've been very happy with the car.
