When I purchased my 02 it had 28K on it. The PO used it as a daily driver in Columbus, OH. Fortunately he didn't drive it in the snow. From the service records he did an RMS and had the CD changer replaced. Not bad for 28K of daily miles. I just drove to NC to take a trip on the Tail of the Dragon and didn't think twice about reliability issues.

OTH I had a 96 993 which had the AC go out, all of the air circualtion functions die, alarm from hell, ABS problems, steering rack fail. All at 60K.

996's not reliable? Read some European magazines and you'll see how they are usually described as bulletproof. That's why I bought mine after having several M-Bs with reliability issues; I wanted a dependable daily driver!
