If you could only see the grin on my face!

The Fabspeed Bypass pipes were installed this morning. I am well, for the time being, L-O-V-I-N-G it!! It's got an amazing sound.

When we turned her over, I think we all kinda held our breath. I was expecting more. We all just looked at one another and collectively said, "Hmmm...sounds nice." Well...that was at idle. A few revs and we were all just stunned! It was so agressive, so...dare I say it...LOUD!! My kitty just turned into a tiger!! (I name my cars, this one is affectionately named "Pussycat")

It is awesome and I love it. I had this silly grin on my face driving home. No, I don't think it's too loud for "my" everyday use. But, it's only been on a day. I am giving myself one week to make a final on it. But, I am thinking it's going to stay. I will put up a sound file soon as I can. Probably from this weekends drive.

Thanks for meeting me for lunch Kirby...let's hear your thoughts. I hope you didn't make poor Val deaf! Nothing like exhaust by phone!!

A couple of notables:
1. Couldn't detect any resonance (no muffler, no resonance?). Although there is a vibration to the car now. Any of you Turbo guys have this?
2. A couple of sweet spots were found as far as RPM's for cruising. 3300 and 3900. It was very comfortable for cruisng on the highway at those RPMs.
3. I CAN'T hear it over my stereo!
4. On the way home, two guys in a mini truck gave me this sign to rev...thought that was funny.
5. And to the man in the beautiful dark Porsche in WC today getting on the freeway...nice smile!
6. I couldn't immediately feel the affects of the 55lbs of weight loss...it was raining today, so I will test that out tomorrow.
7. I was warned about a possible flat spot due to a NA car needing some sort of backpressure. I went up and down, hard, soft, ripped through RPMs...and I couldn't find a single flat spot.
8. I guess I am "that" gung ho!!!

Thanks Joe Fabiani!

Robyn,

I believe you're coming down to our get together here in LA, PLEASE if you decide to take it off DON'T take it off until after the LA meet. I would very much like to hear what "***** Cat" sounds like.

Coming from a Porsche owner that already has this on their car, it truly does make the already beast form Porsche into a MONSTER. This thing is absolutely loud. I have trouble coming home past 1AM because the neighbors acuras and toyota car alarms go off. It surely is a bad *** addition.

Great - You finally have had them installed...

Just remember that the pipes probably sound much louder to a bystander than to the driver.

You may want someone to take your car for a spin and drive past you so that you can appreciate the actual sound level...

Thanks for Lunch again Robyn, Next time it's my turn.

The bypass sounded good. It wasn't too loud at idle and normal speeds, but when pushing it like you did down the street it was WAY LOUD! I heard you all the way up the street with my window closed. I can imagine it being OK on the streets and normal speeds, but on the track when you open it up, OH MY! I can't wait to hear in on the freeway this weekend to see what it sounds like at Freeway speeds. Hmmm Somthing new to consider, GREAT another MOD! Thanks Robyn....

Day Two

I promise not to post every day's impressions...

But, I have to say...after driving long distance into the Bay Area and then around town...I am still loving the sound of my car!

Notable: When she is started cold, it's really raspy and loud, however as the car warms up, the sound settles down to a low rumble. Save of course, when I stomp on it.

I will keep it on for you guys in LA to hear it...(that is if for some reason I do remove it, I'll do it after the meet on February 7th.

She sounds so freakin' bad a$$!! My neighbors are going to love me at 530 tomorrow morning!
