Just bought my first porsche this week. A silver '99 Porsche 911 with only 29K miles. Need some help with where to get it serviced in Austin, Texas. The dealer wants to rake me over some coals with the 30K service.
Also, my clutch started to slip today. Does anyone have any input on a clutch with only 29K miles slipping?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone else in the Austin area?
Thanks,
Brad

Finally..........
Well, it only took 3 emails and about 3 weeks to allow me to my posts and add a pic of my new ride.
As stated above, my clutch is really slipping with 30K, any thoughts of a bad clutch at 30K?
Also, any locals in Austin know of a good repair shop, my horn is inop and the dealer wants 200 bucks just to look at it.

I've seen a guy go through 2 clutches in a 996Turbo in about 21K miles....he traded the car after the 2nd one. 9K on 1st one, 12K on the 2nd one, got rid of it. Hey he increased the life 33% on the second one,

Austin Support
The dealer in Austin Quoted me $1200-1400 for a new clutch on my 02. Couple of things, they have an active Porsche club in Austin someone may help. You can call John Grassi at Roger Beasley Porsche and he can get you on their email mailing list. Join PCA for they give PCA members discounts at the parts department. If you bought the Porsche from Roger Beasley I'm surprise they didn't throw the service in. They did with my 02. I would be careful on who does your clutch for it's not just the clutch you have to look at, but also the rear seals if their leaking than you need special tools.
