ok....I would NEVER let some guy at best buy hack into my Porsche.....I did the install myself and here is what I discovered....

1. The Porsche is setup for single OR double din..you know what you have to do? cut the plastic seperating the 2 DIN slots...thats it. then the double din chassis slides right in perfectly. now...wiring....mine was easy because someone had put an aftermarket radio in before me and did a horrible job....so you need to either get a module, or splice wires....i actually went with a complete new amp and speakers as the head unit alone was not a big improvement...the achilles heel of our system is the speakers and amp....to find out what you have Bose or HK....do you have the upgraded sound system? there are 2 upgrades...Hi Fi and the Bose which has a seperate module that controls the surround sound....if you do not have a seperate audio module, then you have the HK. Also look at your option codes under the hood of your car, this will tell you what audio system is with the car....if you dont know yet...Porsches dont "come stock"...they are ALL indiviually ordered...if you bought one off the lot, the dealer spec'd the car out and ordered it....so if the dealer that day felt like ordering a car with Bose, then it may have it...lol....oh and this was one of the EASIEST audio systems I have had to install....but I wouldnt let anyone who hasnt done ALOT of Porsche's touch my cars audio system.

Sorry about the Speakerworks thing. They're usually pretty acomodating. I wish the owner, Eric Holdaway, had answered the phone. You know how the hired help can be.

Thank you

Well first off thanks for more info, it is much appreciated! The best buy guy, he is actually this guy I happen to know, we used to meet up at biker meets...Speaker works I cant say much about I am over them. Pasedana I dont mind driving too, I will give him a call. Here is my issue, when I had a Honda I had no problem rippin it apart because everything is a cheap fix. In terms of the Porsche, I get cold feet, I figure if Best Buy messes up my car I can call corporate and they are responsible for it. I will check under my hood and see what it says about my system. On the radio and speakers it does not say any name or brand...I will keep you guys updated hopefully this thread will help someone else in the future as well...

If Best Buy jacks it up, don't expect their corporate offices to respond quickly. You know how big companies can be. I might check out this Rawlings guy myself.

Jamey

He is a very cool guy, and knows what he is talking about. I know he will do a great job, but he is pricey. He said probably around 300, but if it takes longer (half day of work) then 450. He is leaving for a week though, so I think i am going on Wednesday to get it done! I am excited...

Thumbs up its done!

So $350 later its done. I got to drive in Jamey's lotus as well. I hate those things, but now i want one! Anyways his work is clean, and they did a great job. Treated my car as if it was their own. I took out the headunit, and the cup holder. I took this w my cell phone....
