Clever Combacks when a stranger makes and A$$ of themselves

I was at the grocery store today, (Wearing my nifty Porsche Racing jacket) when this ...lady in her late 50's (I say the term "lady" lightly) says to me, "Well, I sure hope you drive one." Now, if she were being "funny", "Light-hearted"...that would have been one thing; but she actually looked down her nose at me and said it in a tone that I really just wanted to ...okay, uhm...nevermind.

Well, I couldn't help myself, and quickly responded, "No, actually I drive two." A tight grin extended, she could tell I was irritated by her and her ridiculously rude, none of her business question. Well, the reaction I got out of her was pretty good, bulging eyes of "oops..I just made an *** of myself" and a quick look away.

Her male appendage like husband piped in his half a cent (not even worthy of the rest of the cent and a half) and said, "At the same time?" "Yeah mister, I'm really talented." I left them there, shaking my head in dismay.

Just had to chuckle and share that with you guys. Some people need to stay in their little holes and not bother the rest of society with there lack of social skills. Anyone have some good responses that get the point across of have similiar stories?

I might have said something like "Why would you ask?"

Generally though, if people are clueless to begin with, they don't generally "get" the comebacks anyway.

Robyn--You must get this..

I rarely get this one, but another friend who also has a Speed Yellow Carrera is often asked why he drives a yellow Porsche..his response..."What color is your Porsche?"

Darren, It must be the NY in us. I told a guy once when he asked me if I bought or leased the car, that I had just stole it and my friend was just laughing at my response.

PS I HATE when someone asks me how much I spent. I never know how to answer that! I have no idea why anyone thinks that question is appropriate. To me it's like asking me my bra size! Duh!!
