GRIOT'S ITALIAN AIR HORNS - installed with pics!

OK latest mod...I hated the way the stock horns sounded on our cars. I knew I was going to replace them with air horns. I bought the GRIOTS Italian air horn and am very happy. The horn is very LOUD and very EURO sounding. Exactly what I wanted.

The only hassle is like most of you know..you have to remove the whole dang bumper cover.

Here are pics...

Before we started..I drove the car on wooden planks for give it some raise.

Bumper is ready to come off..

and off it comes...

OMG she is naked!!

my bumper cover..

looking for a good place to install this...

OEM horns

perfect placement

thanks for looking!

next up...Nav system in the ride!

It is PNP to an extent...but yeah there is some customization involved. You are correct in assuming the bracket has to be fitted. The one that comes with the air horn aint going to cut it. So you have to have some one that can bend some stuff and make it all fit. Also..the electronics. My installer made sure he ran all the wiring and relay and fuses INSIDE the car...so none of it is sitting outside. A pretty obvious move, but I guarantee you alot of lazy installers dont care about.

It is pretty straight forward...but if you want to hide the wires etc and make it look clean there is some moving around you have to do.

For those in the socal area...at the next "coffee social" you can hear it for yourselves...its pretty loud.

I also like it because it sounds different...not a typical horn noise. Now it sounds more EURO baby! Just like a Ferrari? ahahhaa....

I put in air horns 3 years ago after a truck backed up into the Boxster....

Except I left in the original horns.

Now, that's loud.
