Wet Sanding Fresh Caliper Paint

Hey guys,

Hopefully someone here can lend some painting "expertise" . I just got done DIY painting my calipers with the kit that tire rack sells. But i have a few small runs that i would like to get rid of to make the job look a little more "professional" lol. Do any of you guys know if i can hit these calipers with a little high grit wet sand paper before i apply a layer of clearcoat? If not i can live with the results but i would rather make is purty!

A razor blaze should do the trick. Open a brand new razor blade and at a 45% angle AGAINST the run. Drag the blade AGAINST the run and then polish. Follow the same principal as you would shaving your face. Do not try to carve out the run, rather drag the blade and shave the run down. If you are uncomfortable with this bring it to a good body shop and they can do it for you. This is also a good way to get out fish eyes in paint. You will need some compound to polish the paint back to a shine when finished.

Not sure what you can do as the kit has a hardening agent so its not just "paint"....I have a run or two on my caliper, but once I added the lettering and put the wheels back on....you cant see the drip....

Thanks for the help guys

Capt...when you say "against" the drip do you mean go the opposite way the drip......dripped ie...upward??

This caliper paint is some interesting stuff. Its very thick when it dries, reminds me of that plasti-dip stuff

MAD CAT...i got pics coming...i just want to make it look good before i post em up

Mad-CAT did it and it came out nice..... Just don't go too deep on the sanding grit, once you do you can't come back.....
