997 Fabspeed mufflers on my 996 ???

Hi all
I recently found a set of used Fabspeed Maxiflow mufflers that came off of a 997, for a very reasonable price. Any idea if I can sneak them onto my 1999 C2.

thanks
Mark

Hi Mark... I know the story here.. Darren is a _really nice_ guy and great to deal with. I was telling him the physically the muffler is the same. The way the tips mount on a 997 and 996 are different in terms of the outlet pipe and diameter. I would call Joe at Fabspeed and ask him for the kit that allows you to do this...

Hey Alex

So you know the gentleman tha thas the set for sale for $450.00? This is a small world indeed, cool deal and great price, plus I think that it is a bonus to get a set that is already broken in, sound wise, *grin*.
Yes I thought that they would make a nice addition for my car. I'll contact Fabspeed.....

Thanks much
Mark

Hi Alex

According to Joe @ Fabspeed all I need to install my 996 tips on the 997 Fabspeed mufflers is to purchase their V-Band Tip Clamps. So they are going out Fed-Ex this morning and heading for Fremont.

Thanks for your support!

That's what we figured The outlet pipes are different for a 997 but otherwise the muffler is the same. Good on ya!

Still brings up an interesting question though......

If the outlet pipe diamater is different on the 997 pipe Vs. the 996 how can a simple clamp make the 996 tip fit upon the 997 pipe? This I look forward in seeing, this Trick clamp.....

cheers
