so... can i get 11" wheels for the rear with offset of 45 for NB and avoid rubbing?? here are my choices for the rear:

> cat bbs_porsche | egrep ' 11| 10'
RS928 - DSPK 18 x 10 ET65
RS956 - DSPK 18 x 11 ET45
RS977 - DSPK 19 x 11 ET60

NOOOOOO.....18x10 et 65 are the stock 996 size. 19x11 et60 MIGHT work....I have 19x11 et67 and they fit perfectly....18x11 et45 is for a tt or C4S widebody.

What I said was that a stock rear wheel (18x10 with an ET of 65mm) could be used with up to a 17mm spacer (provided you ran a narrower/lower profile 265/35 tire). Now sum math for ya now.. take the 65mm ET and subtract the 17mm for the spacer and you now have a wheel with an offset of 48. Most folks consider this the MAX.

Now you go an throw on an 18x11 wheel from a turbo with an offset of 45mm (sounds close the 10" rear scenario ends up at ET 48 with spacer, what's 2 mm among friends) but you forgot one thing... That extra 1 inch = 25.4 mm. So divide in half and stick 12/13 mm more on each end of the wheel and you see why an 11" with ET 45 is impossible. It will be sticking out of the fender.

To make an 11" rear sit the same as the stock 18x10 with a 17mm spacer you need an ET of 61. Note that the GT3 uses a rear of 18x11 ET 63. that is 2 mm more tucked in. Newport above is using a 19x11 ET 67 which is even further tucked in yet.

Google "offset calculator" and enter all the above to see the comparo.

Just to make it a bit more confusing, 1999 and maybe 2000 996 had a 7.5in wide wheel on the front and different control arm. If you upgrade as I did to a new wheel (5-spoke 8in) then you can't fit a 15mm on the front. I've tried to mount turbo 11in rears on my car and they did not fit with 285's. For effect only, go get a handfull of washers (14mm, I think) and try the spacing to see what suits your liking. Each washer is approx 1mm. DO NOT DRIVE ON THEM!!! You will need longer studs/bolts if you go with more than 5mm. I got mine from http://www.hrsprings.com/site/products/trak.html I run 5mm front and 7mm rear. Good luck.

Hey guys couple of things. This is crazy but Im having a problem posting pics. First how can I do that haha, because I just got my new rims and tires on Fri. I got 235/35/19 Fronts on Carrera Classic 19" ET57 and 315/25/19 rears ET67. The backs fit good but I noticed the front are inside the wheel well a bit so I wondering too if I should put some spacers on the front, but cant post pics . This wheel stuff is pretty crazy though haha
