Yep, that means you should buy a used base 997, put the 3.8 X51 and PSS9 suspension and you will have a track monster... I'm guessing you'd also need to get the OEM Carbon Fiber trick intake manifold to get max out of it...

Just to understand this correctly... since I have a 99 C4, this means it has E-gas? Accordingly, I can put a 3.8L X-51 motor with core change for $5800 plus labor? - How much is labor? Also, what is the difference in horsepower and torque to the wheels?

See my other posts. Controlling the VarioCam Plus is the stickler. After seeing your avatar, ummm... what was the question again?

Almost... technically under $10K is for a reman engine with core. Also, the X51 includes other stuff like intake air box, headers, ECU program, etc., which you'd probably have to pay for.

i like the supercharger option cause it'll probably cost the same when you factor labor, shipping, etc.. and the car makes 500hp and loses no driveability.

I think it's apples and oranges. 385 HP in an NA car VS 500 HP in an SC. I have no experience with an SCed motor, only turbos. I like the throttle resonce of NA motors as it is more direct. What's it like in an SC?

it's exactly the same as a NA car. just a lot faster all kidding aside, the centrifugal blowers are very linear. they build boost (ie HP) as the rpm increase. just like your NA car. there is no big sudden surge in power like in a turbo. other than extra HP, it would be very difficult to tell a EVO 996 is SC'd as they're very quiet as well.
