I'm not sure if they make these sizes, but I don't recommend Conti Sport II tires. The road noise was unbearable at times that I actually put on ear plugs...

When the Michelin PS2 tires were finally available, I changed them out even when I had plenty of tread left in my Conti tires.

 

I usually wear out the rears way before the fronts.....

Anyway, I just bought some BFG g-Sports (18s) from discount. I have had experience with these before. Good wear with minimal loss of performance. Check them out. The prices were very reasonable. Not at all noisy.

 

So what would you guys pick for a Daily driver, price no object?

 

IMO, Michelin PS2, hands down.

I've been leaning away from the PS2's because they're not available in 285's and I didn't want to downsize to the 265's. But someone on Rennlist just told me you can put 295's on a C2, on a 10" rim. Is this true? How does it effect the feel of the car? Are the speedo and odometer still accurate? If this will work, does one use 225's or 235's in the front? Dr. Porsche is turning in his grave!

 

I can't imagine stretching a 295 on a 10" rim. Hell, 285 seems a little overboard to me. If it were me I'd get the 265s based on fit on a 10" wheel.

 

The newer Kuhmo SPT's are very reasonably priced and perform well overall. I've had them for about 5k miles and am pleased with them over the Conti SC2's and P Zeros. The drawback is that they're unidirectional with means they cannot be rotated in a staggered setup like our 996s.

 

Slaaw, don't know about you but I can't rotate my tires anyway.

285's fit *much* better on my wheels than the stock 65's do. In fact, the 65's looked like someone had stuck a rubber band on there. Way too narrow a tread for the width of the wheel. The 85's fit right and I suspect the 95's would be OK.
