New Wheels!!! Which Tires????

Well, i couldn't take it anymore. I finally just pulled the trigger on a set of new SSR's today. The guy at discount tire misquoted me the first time when he said he could get the set for $2k. So after some deliberation he said he would give them to me at "his cost" and give me a decent deal on the tires to make up for it!??! Not bad i thought. Tire rack price is $2600 +shipping. I ordered them for $2250..

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand

So now....what tires do i get and what sizes.

The wheels are 19x8 and 19x10. I went with the smaller widths because i absolutely HATE the big polished lip look...

I would like to be in the $1000 price range on the tires? Any recommendations? the guy at discount wants me to get toyo proxies??? I do need something with decent wear time, i do quite a bit of freeway driving (daily driver in the summer)

thanks in advance....as usual!

if you can spend 200 more you can get PS2... I think there worth the money but not the best at wear, you can put 235/35 and 285/30, heres the match up:
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
235/35-19 3.2in 12.7in 25.5in 80.0in 792 0.0%
285/30-19 3.4in 12.9in 25.7in 80.8in 784 1.0%

with those offsets, you can also put 15mm spacers all around for a more agressive look

I have the TOYO Proxies T1Rs...the new ones. Great tire. Go for it....those are not crazy marked up...

another brand that is very underpriced for the quality is HANKOOK...the prices are very decent!

thanks for the help guys.

Where is a good place to pick up spacers?? that looks great on that car!!!

Thanks madcat....if you dont mind me asking, what did you pay for yours??? I'll ask the guy if he'll give me 2 for 1 on the tires to make up for the wheel thing ...pm me the address you want the tires sent to lol

Has anyone seen a pic of the "satin" wheels on a 996. Apparently everyone gets the silver version, the guy said these were more expensive, but you cant get the silver ones now?!?!

Spacers

Check with our sponsors first like Wheel Enhancement, Suncoast, etc.
I also found them while shopping for mine at FVD USA. Do not forget to get the longer bolts that match the spacer size.

Toyos are a good bet... but stay away from HANKOOK or those other cheap tires... get some quality tires for your ride... you dont want them to burst, peel, buldge at high speeds... i wouldnt pinch pennies with tires. just my 2 cents

285 is the max size on a 10 inch rim, the newer 996 is a 285 stock tire, no problems on mine...

Why would you get 4 rears? Is that a typo?

naaa the guy was only charging $130 apiece for the rears!! (the fronts were 220 each) so i figured fronts wear much slower than rears...so i would have enough to last me for 2 rounds of tires (maybe some track time). Those rear's go for like 350 most places...Maybe that was stupid, i dunno....it sounded like a good idea at the time
