edit: Boxstergirlie, you drive the 911 sometimes? Let us know about the chatter issues on the LWFW, is it annoyingly loud? TIA

let me know when you do this cause i have the 3.6 which isn't that much of a difference but a slight difference....

i know not every set-up is identical so it'll be interesting....

Will do. The SC 3.6 is much faster, it is at least another 50-60hp... so @around 475hp+ easily is a big advantage....but the 3.4 is more tunable, for more performance.

i understand the concept and idea, but real life results don't add up. it's not as good as the OEM flywheel setup on the 911.

spools up more quickly? we talking about turbo engines here?

No experience with the OEM LWFW though have a hard time seeing the difference being that dramatic.

Spooling, <meh> bad word choice, you get the point though. Rotational mass is the enemy was my point. Two cars with equally skilled drivers with the only difference being one with OEM NON LWFW and one with a LWFW. The one with the LWFW will have an advantage in some aspects such as coming out of a corner since the engine will rev up more quickly/freely. Will it make a diff in the lap times, maybe not. But there are some aspects that could give a competitive edge.

we've had the lwfw in the 996 for a week now. i've noticed a big difference in coming out of corners, but also for acceleration. i think, personally, it was worth the difference in price. we'll see when we take it to the track and try it out this spring.

Less inertia to overcome with a LWFW. But at only a 20 lbs delta its probably negligible difference unless you are driving hard all the time.

Rmedy,

The front bumper is OEM stock 996, BUT the lower lip extension is made by Orciari http://www.autoparis.com.au/cars/oth...he/porsche.htm

They have a dealer in FL where I got mine. My paint shop, a concours quality work tyoe, took some labor cost off because he said he didnt have to work in prepping it that hard due to the excellent material and finish that it came in. I think your next question is hoew much I paid 800 plus shipping 2 or 3 years ago. Under my signature, there should be an album with my install....Ooops.. I thought I did. I guess I took it out There are some pictures there though that show different angles.
