Wow, big difference between a Dynapack and Dynojet dynos
Quite honestly, after seeing this Dynapack in person, I'm not sure why anyone would even use a Dynojet. Especially after an explanation of how it works and just how inaccurate a Dynojet dyno really is. Stuff I never thought of such as tire pressure, how tight the tie down straps are, how much water in the drum, etc... can all throw a Dynojet off by as much as 20hp or more.
Now for the bad news. Well at least for me. My car doesn't make nearly the HP I thought it did. Still much more than stock so I can't complain. I think I'll keep my Dynojet papers around for bragging rights though
It was interesting to see three runs back to back and all be almost the exact same hp. I've never seen that on a dynojet before. A dynojet is better than nothing I suppose but this Dynapack seems like the way to go. Not to mention they don't have straps all over your car to make the runs.
I wish I had done all my dynos here from the start to really chart the gains. Oh well.

Don't worry about the numbers....The only thing a dyno is really good for is determining delta's, not determining actually HP for comparison between various cars.
These type of comparison's are always what bring on flame wars....
BTW, where did you go?

nah. with the 1/4 mile, technique/skill comes into play. gotta do rolling tests to see what the deltas are.

The trap speed is not affected much by skill or lack there of. A good day with several passes at a drag strip should get you a good trap number for you to calculate the hp of your car, taking into account the weather, elevation, weight of the car etc.....Rolling tests are good as well.

Deputy, you are so correct. The dynapack is so superior to the Dynojet, and the repeatability is amazing...a huge factor of appeal for me as a scientist. I own my own Dynapack 3000 unit in So. Cal, and absolutely love it!!
