Powdercoating Calipers

Anyone have any tips on pulling the calipers off for powdercoating? Am I better off just doing a switch for some of those listings on ebay?

Anything else you can powdercoat thats worthwile?

in order to do it, you need to disassemble them and rebuild them...

I didn't think there were seals available to rebuild them?

has to be....available from brembo....you cant powder coat them like that...i am sure the seals would be compromised in the powdercoating process....

Brembo doesn't even powedercoat...they just paint... but yes, like Newport said, a caliper rebuild is necessary.

Painted Surfaces are smooth and won't chip when they are accidently bumped. . .

Good Luck,

Tshack,

If you're going to pull the calipers off and have them powdercoated, you might as well send the rotors along and have the "hats" powdercoated silver or grey at the same time. I always paint mine because they start looking SO bad.

The epoxy kits are a good alternative to powdercoating, and can be done with the calipers on.

I don't know about the calipers, but I'm having my wheels and rotors painted on my elise. I'm having my gas cap and diffuser powder coated in a couple weeks. I gues when you powder coat it makes things thicker because I want to powder coat the bolts around my gass cap, but then they wouldn't work the same way any more.

If you're like me, you might like the way a powder coated gas cap and diffuser look since you're thinking of more things to do it to.

"YES", just depends on the pattern of your wheel as to how much of this area is exposed....
