Are coolant leaks somewhat normal?

Looks like the fix is just to add a hose clamp of some sort.....is this normal?

I experienced a minimal loss of coolant over the last month. When I refilled the coolant, I noticed a small amount of coolant around the lip where the reservoir cap is attached. It appears the reservoir cap is the original; part# 996-106-447-01. I ordered an updated model from Pelican Parts; part#996-106-447-04; $23.00. Hopefully, this will resolve this issue.

my coolant leak is getting worst, so mine will be at RAC Performance monday..I'd replaced the cap & it still leaks..thought about replacing the tank myself but decided not to..too much of a PITA..

I have noticed I add about 1 or 2 ounces every 3-6 months into my overflow tank. I replaced my cap with an updated cap and tank 3 years ago. I have never seen a leak or drip....No overheating...Cleaned the radiators and combed the fins.
