to people who say the 997 looks so much better than the 996.. you guys are conservative fools. it doesn't. they look different and brando's car shows how the 996 mk2s are aging so well. it still looks fresh and it came out in 2002 or like what 6+ years ago??

the trend today is for headlights to be more aggressive, bigger, angled... and the 996s mk2 lights look just as if not more modern than the throwback/vw bug style round headlights on the 997.

pinky lai did a great job.

The back of a c4s has to be one of the best looking rear ends on any car.

I couldn't agree more. The lower vents, the wide tires, the dual exhaust, and the big fat rear is one helluva combination. Sometimes I just open my garage and stand back to look at the back of it.

Looks like some have been going in the lower half of the $30k range. That's prob about the extent I can do. Have an e36 M3 to trade with cash, but I doubt that would stir up much interest on this board.

Yea sorry man I came out of a E46 M3 and paid 40 for mine a few months ago. I wouldn't sell it for a penny less than I paid.

No worries. I'd much rather aim for the $30k mark if I can find one. Surprisingly, it isn't as uncommon as I would have originally expected. I have a little more to work with, but I'd rather save extra for if/when things break, investing, etc than to spend it all up front.

Any regrets going from e46 m3 to 996?

Well I had a Ducati in between the two but no pretty much none. I miss the backseat in the M3 and I miss the trunk but other than that not really anything. The M3 was my dream car for a long time and still is. The C4S is just a great car for the money. Its in a different league IMO. Don't buy one for near 30k. Save up. Things do break and the C4S is not a cheap car to buy parts for. Plus Porsche charges about $120 an hour for labor. Im pretty sure I can hire a lawyer for that.
