Hi Kevin- I just got my P car, so I'm trying to figure out what programmable options are available.

-daytime running lights
-door lock on drive-off
-horn chirp on remote lock / unlock
-passenger side mirror tilts down in reverse
-anything else? Was hoping there is a list outlining all programmable options.

I have one other super big question on a DIY to ask, if you don't mind- will PM you.

To get the passenger mirror to drop down in reverse, make sure your car is in reverse gear when you save your seat position in memory.

But I'd also like to know about the other programmable options. I'm particularly interested to see if there is a way to get the alarm to chirp on lock/unlock.

I don't think you can get the horn to sound when locking the car.

I know you can do the auto door lock though.

If you install a new head unit (radio) the alarm will chirp. Mine does. I love it!

The horn beep (it's the horn, not the alarm) signifies that something is wrong and the alarm system hasn't been able to fully activate. The sound you get from incorrectly installing your radio or leaving the armreast open COULD also indicate you've left a door or the trunk unlatched. It's not really a good way to check your car is locked. I want a sound to indicate that the car is fully secured.

Buy the remote top module from here https://www.wilhelmy-it.de/

I added it to my 02 cab and it does pretty much all the features you are asking for. Plus its pretty cool when you can open and close your cab from the key fob.

They are great to deal with. Too bad you missed the group buy awhile back.

Double clicking the lock button will trigger a single beep confirming the alarm activation; along with a flash of the lights. However, I believe that this may deactivate the interior motion detector. This works on my '03 C4S.

Yes it will de-activate the interior motion if you press it a 2nd time.

and the chirp informs you that half of your alarm (the interior sensors) have not been activated. That may not be your intention

Stealer? Ouch that hurts man... Early 996s had a contact for the radio so that in the event that someone was trying to remove the radio while the alarm was armed, it would go off. It is simple to bypass, the alarm control unit looks to see that all of the contact switches are grounded, if there is an open, the alarm will chirp signifying a problem. Just ground the radio alarm lead.
