It's amazing what happens when you stop at the dealer!

My new bumper is in and I wanted to pop in and make sure it was the right one, all parts arrived, etc. It's all good and heads to the body shop to be painted next week.

I got to talking with one of the sales guys and the Service Manager about the X50 and the power of it and I was looking to get myself into a Turbo or GT2 in the next couple of years. And...that I had never driven a Turbo. Well, they happened to have a TTX50 on the lot(They are no asking $124k for it, it's a 2003 with a couple 1000 miles)...and they tossed me the keys and told me to go have some fun.

OMG!!

The experience left me..trembling, breathless and in awe! When things spool up, the car just shoots you like a bullet from a gun! In fact, I think my brain didn't catch up with my drive until I got back to the dealer. There were a few times when I felt a bit dizzy when I hit it. WOW!!!

So, that was pretty darned awesome. But, the car is just too much for me...money wise and power wise. I really like the feel of the NA car. I know that sounds odd. Perhaps in a couple years. Telling this to the sales guy..he says, "Well, I have a GT3 coming in you know." HOLY SHEE-AAT! Okay, so, it's mine if I want it...June Delivery!! Arghhhhhhhhh! Somebody stop me I am out of control! I probably won't, just because it's black and that is not my color of choice as I drive everyday and don't want to be a slave to the care of it's paint.

In a nutshell, got my Aerokit II bumper, drove an amazing TTX50 and got a delivery date for a GT3! What a night!

I would highly consider the gt3 from your previous posts. seems from hearsay of course that the gt3 is a bit more nimble and easier to handle in the elements. There has to be a low mile sy gt3 out there for you. BTW, saw your car both times at the LA meets recently but unfortunately did not get to talk to you. Your car is wonderful and I'm sure these upgrades are gonna be iceing on the cake. Good luck and take care.

regards,

geoff and erma

Full leather, Xenon, AC, Cruise Control, Crest in head rest and a few small things I am unable to remember. It was MSRP 107k. I didn't pay too close attention to the options as it wasn't the color I am very keen on, although gorgeous, just not for me. I would probably option it quite close to that if I order one. SY, with yellow belts and GT3 seats and all the above. Perhaps some CF too. As you can see, I have just about talked myself out of it. If I am going to make the jump, I want it to be exactly what I want.

Be sure it is, cause you might find yourself wanting to keep the GT3 for a long time. I know I am planning on it. Sounds like you had a nice visit to the dealership. I am sure that if you tried you could easily find yourself a nice SY GT3.

Come to the dark side... (trying to temp you)

That is SOOOOOOOOO cool. Isn't it refreshing to have a dealer actually encourage your dream! When you are ready I bet you will check there first.

I think MSRP is 180k, they go used for 150-160k depending on the color ...

Arling,
check out the car that ScottW posted. Its exactly your color and options. Why wait til July. If you want to drive in lieu of flying, I'll drive the SL up there with you and we can drive back together. It will be a great break in drive.
