Carrera 2 ym-2002 wheels question..
I have replaced the stock 2002 Carrera 2 wheels with a brand new set of 993 Turbo look ("Technology" wheels i think they are called). Anyway, i noticed that these are much, much heavier. A friend of mine said that the car will be a bit slower because the engine will now have to "work harder to turn the heavier wheels". Is there any truth on this? I ask for your input because he doesn't know s_it.
Thank you all.

It is highly doubtful that you will even be able to tell the difference. FYI, the Technology wheels are the hollow spokes, very light weight. The turbo twist wheels look the same but are heavier. Feel the backside of the spoke... the Technology wheels are smooth on the backside while the twists have a rib running down the back.

Yes ..apparently they are Turbo Twist..but the
weight difference is much more than 2 pounds. I guess they are about 50% heavier (no kidding) that's why i'm so worried about loss of power. Geez, should i put back my other wheels??

I drove the car last night and it feels different...
It felt more nimble at the corners with the stock wheels. I think i'm going to return the Turbo Twist. I guess that's why we should pay top $$ for O.E.M and forget about replicas.
Thank you for your input.

the turbo twists are 25 lbs heavier than the 5 spoke carreras (i switched to the 5 spoke from the turbos). i don't think the hollow spoke version is available for c2 wheel size, but i could be wrong. the 25 extra lbs of unsprung weight will slow the car (though you won't notice) while degrading the ride, handling, and braking performance (the later you probably won't notice).

But 25lbs overall meaning roughly 5lbs difference per wheel?
Or 25 lbs each wheel? ....I apologize if i sound like an ignorant but after 5 Porsches this is the first time i have ever switched to aftermarket wheels. And haven't had them weighted yet.
Thank you.
