What MPG do you get in your 996 N/A?
Ok, well I don't pay much attention to gas mileage, maybe I should but I seemed to have gotten great gas mileage on my 700 mile trip over the weekend. Last year I did the same trip and I think I got about 26mpg (slightly above) which seems right (per manf spec). Well this year seems to be different! I put in the plenum and the k/n cold air and this is what I got (from the computer, which does seem to be fairly accurate from my experience).
What kind of highway mileage do you get?
- 34.8mpg (over 10 miles; flat, at-speed, no-ac, no wing) at 68mph
- 31.8mpg (over 60 miles; rolling hills (+/- 100ft), at-speed, ac, wing) at 77mph
- 31.0mpg (over 120 miles; rolling hills 1000'+ altitude changes (500'-3000' ft in altitude), at-speed, ac, wing, subdued driving) at 73mph (compare to last year at 26.4ish)
- 27.0mpg (over 200 miles; multiple 1000'+ altitude changes (500'-3000' ft in altitude), multiple freeway onramps (you know what I mean), and a couple acceleration runs (ditto), ac, wing, spiritted and mostly subdued) generally 77mph

I get a steady 13.9 mpg, all in-town light-to-light driving to work and back every day unfortunately. Have yet to take my pcar out on a freeway trip.
I have a heavy foot though, and I like to go light to light very quickly...lol
..In comparison, I used to get 11.2 mpg avg. in my 330i.

Driving around I bet it will be like 18-20 in my normal driving cause I use the right pedal more than the middle one.
Yeah I was REALLY surprised but remember those high numbers where the fuel economy to keep the car at the speed not necissarily a cold start, drive around, get on freeway, drive with traffic. Just the mph stated.

I've seen in the 30's in my 3.4, before it was supercharged.
I get the same readings now with the SC, but apparently the computer is about 15% out due to a longer duty cycle on the injectors.
I usually get 200-220 miles per tank with a mix of 50/50 freeway town driving.
Freeway driving alone I've seen over 350 on a tank, close to 370 if I remember correctly from a road trip to the grand canyon last year.

i did a road trip to ottawa, racing and back to toronto and after the 1000kms my average consumption was 10l/100kms
that includes 400kms outbound at average speed of 120kph with some runs upto 200kph.
100kms of crazy driving/rallying down a mountain at WOT so u can imagine how much gas that took up.
400 kms back...cruise control averaging about 120-140kph.
no complaints here
