I'D BE INTERESTED IN THE REGULATOR REPACEMENT ALSO AS MY CAR ONLY HAS 24K MILES. i'LL TAKE IT APART TODAY TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUE IS.
CAN ONE BUY THE THE REGULATOR AND WHERE?

HAS ANYONE USED AN ALTERNATOR REPAIR SHOP IN ORANGE COUNTY ,CA. JUST TO FIX THIS PART. mY ALTERNATOR LOOKS LIKE NEW BUT I MUST ADMIT TO HAVEING A LOW BATTERY QUITE A FEW TIMES .

in may my alternator went south and needed replacement. after getting a quote for over $800 bucks for a new one from the dealer i did a search and found this topic. called all the advance/autozone/murry's around and all said there was a back order or long wait on one.

deciding not to wait and in need of one asap, i remember using this one place to rebuilt one on one of my old cars before. called them up to see if they can do such a job and when asked if they can do it for a porsche, the only question they asked me was "is it a bosch?". well of course it is, its the factory one. NO PROBLEM. after an hour wait (had lunch, came back) and only 150 bucks later, works fine with a 2yr warrenty.

voltage reads good (almost 14v) and did all the labor myself.

 

JUST CHECKED THE OUTPUT'S OF BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR STATIC AND RUNNING.

STATIC METER READ AT BATTERY 12.3
" " " 11 CAR RUNNING

NEXT STEP ID TO TAKE OUT THE ALTERNATOR

CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A LINK TO A R&R OF THE ALTERNATOR ON A 996TT?
