grahamtwatson is infamous around these parts
Did you get the seperator fitted, and did it fix the problem? I occasionally have the same thing, and I'd like to know if this might be a fix or not...

They ordered the unit (its not in yet)....BUT.......since they lowered the oil level showing 1 blank bar below the dash display, the car has not blown a puff of smoke since. (What we kinda agreed on was, not to replace the unit unless it happened again............which I'm all for not taking stuff apart if not needed).

Its looking like oil level at this point. (before, and Im stupid for not paying attention.... the oil was 1/8" above max on the stick, and confirmed with 1bar showing above the uppper-line on the startup display. Now it shows one blank below that upper-line.

Next weekend I will have another chance to push the car a little and see what happens.

Bear in mind though, that even with the oil at one bar below max,
you "might" still get the white smoke if you push it hard thru a corner.
But it just won't happen as frequently.

Update. Looks like zero smoke as-long-as you make sure to keep the car at idle for 2mins+ (lets say) after driving. (And I pushed it a bit on Saturday, and it was perfect).

I've also noticed (previously), If I'd just wanna move the car outside, quick start and move...... pull back in....... not run for a few days, same deal. (So it appears that you really need to let the car run for a minute or two under all circumstances before shutting the motor off)

Update...... Just changed the oil (6200miles) using the recommended M1 0w-40. Pretty much now on a "cold start" in the morning I will get a puff out the tail. (right side I believe).

OK................ Any opinions on this?

All warm-starts afterwards are fine, no CELs, car runs perfect, no oil loss.
