How to remove yellow road paint from car?

A friend somehow managed to get some yellow road paint on the side door of his Cayenne. Has anyone ever had this happen? How/what is a good way to remove it without impacting the door paint too much?

TIA

Kevin

I would leave the goof off stuff as a last resort .. it would probably harm the paint/clearcoat. Try claying the car .. it should remove the paint from the clearcoat.

I would clay bar the car.
If no clay bar around (Meguire's product at most car stores), then go with the Goof Off. Goof Off is found at Lowe's, Home Depot, and so on. Go to the paint isle.
If you go with the Goof Off route, wash the car when you are done and re-wax the area.
I have used this on nearly all my cars at one point or another due to tar or road paint. Put it on a clean rag and rub lightly. Re-apply as needed.
But again...try to find the clay bar first.

yeah stay away from goof off kind of like using rubbing compound.....it will work but might take off more than you want ........take it to a good detailer. Get them to wash the car and they will probably take it off without even charging you

I've built show cars and and won trophies at many motorcyle shows. A common problem is road tar, paint and just stuff that attacks paint. I've used Goof off for many years and never ever a problem on factory or custom 2 stage paints. Goof Off is mild, will not attack any modern factory finish paints. The clay bar is also a good idea. I have used that after a smooth gentle wipe of a microfiber cloth with Goof Off on it. It will not harm your paint. It will get the junk off with out heavy rubbing leading to scratches etc.

I second the clay bar... I had a similar issue on a previous car but it was grey paint on a black car... Clay bar did the job no problems..

This stuff won't harm your paint, plastic, vinyl or rubber.

3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover

Follow the instructions and don't rub the paint, just let if soak and then wipe off. If you go to a bodyshop that's what they'll use in the back and charge you $100. You can get it at CarQuest

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'll give him your ideas. I don't think he knows how to use a clay bar so I will mention the goof off and 3M remover.
