All,

I just picked up a 2000 C4 "platinum limited edition" and the interior door pulls, shift ****, ebrake handle, and part of the steering wheel is made of faux wood. I'm not too fond of the look and would like to know where I can find replacement parts in something more visually appealing...other than the dealer. The carbon fiber and aluminum equivalent look good to me...or just plain black.

The door pulls and ebrake are in perfect shape, the steering wheel has some cracks in the plastic coating. The shift **** is OK, I believe.

 

I bought some carbon stuff and tried to install it on my Previous car (2003 E46 M3) and I had a lot of trouble fitting it since its not oem.

so I think its a good idea to consult a body shop and see how much they charge for installing / modyfing the trims

 

Its a Millenium edition not Platinum : ) And that is actually real wood. Porsche uses the real stuff : ) Or was it fake for 996s??? Im pretty sure it was real then too : )

 

It was real if it was OEM, just a plastic coating on top to prevent damage. Maybe they use the Ebay Stick on stuff...
