Ipod Hardwire.
Anyone have experience with hardwireing their Ipod in the car. How is the sound quality of music. Is it worth doing or should i just keep my ipod as a portable device and forget about using it in the P-car as well.

Do both!
Get the Becker Aux-in cable kit for the CDR0220, and use your ipod instead of the CD changer.
The sound is great.
Of course, if you have an 03 or later car, then your choices are limited in adding the iPod. These cars have a digital connection to the radio, so it is difficult if not currently impossible to wire in the iPod. But 02 and earlier cars are a snap.

Thank Orient Express. I have an 02 so that would work. Do I have to get rid of my CD player or is there a way to keep both. Anyone using the Ipod wirelessly?

When you get the Becker adapter, it will include a little blue connector that you stick the 2 RCA plug pigtails in.
The CD changer also has a Blue connector which is ganged together with two other connectors, (I believe that they are either green and brown, or yellow and brown.
These 3 connectors make up the top connection to the radio.
When you install the new connector, you first unhook the blue, yellow, brown connector.
Then you plug the new Becker blue connector into where the old blue one was, then you have to take the brown connector (the one on the other end) separate it from the old blue and yellow connector, and plug it back in. The brown connector is to signal the Bose amp to come on. If you don't have Bose, then you don't have to worry about the brown connector.
The key thing is that the middle connector not be plugged in. This is the signal wires for the changer. If it is still plugged in, the Radio will not let you activate the AUX function.
This may seem a little complicated, but once you pull your radio and look at the connectors, it will be a snap.

My Ipod sits in the bottom bay next to a V1 remote display. Brake switch override switch + speakers/headphones toggle + headphone output + ipod output installed in ashtray so when I bring the ipod for a cruise, I just plug into the "ashtray". The sound is as good as the compression. I record at 192 minimum and usually at 320. Sounds great and nothing like having my favorite 150 cds with me.
