No issues after 30k miles

Used VHT spray and Xenon decals, no clear coat. Have used many different kinds of wheel cleaner and high pressure (just try not spray directly at the sticker) and they are holding up just fine. no yellowing, or cracking...and still look great!! Used the money saved on powdercoating for carbon door sills!

I did stencils on my Boxster...it looked kinda cheap....the stickers are much more OEM looking...you cannot tell they are stickers on my car and look EXACTLY like the OEM calipers....

no. stickers DO NOT look exactly like oem... painted on script looks exactly like oem. maybe black works but with white decals you can see the thickness of the vinyl. mine is painted on.

Is that silver or white? Maybe you can see the vinyl thickness if get that close to it....maybe black is better...But all those with the stickers CANT be wrong...lol....And to be honest I see the edges of the stenciled job not as clean. That would bother me more and thats what I didnt like about my Boxster job and what prompted me to try the stickers...again thats something I would see unless the wheels were off and I was really close....

ya, it's silver. couldn't find high temp white so i used silver. actually it kinda sparkles when there is less light.

the key when stenciling is not to use that much paint otherwise the excess paint will pool into the edges of the stencil, and i agree with you, one can see the edges. i used 2 very light coats.... almost like a mist.

no, all the stickers can't be wrong but there's a good way to do it and there's a better way to do it JMO

For those of you that used the VHT High Temp paint, how did you prep the caliper prior to spraying?

Thanks

Stickers are just as good.

Lets not go there....there are plenty of reasons the factory does things...but the factory doesnt do anything as they are supplied by Brembo.....so the question is why doesnt Brembo......cost....stickers would cost more than a few ounces of paint.

Is this similar to the factory putting on a stick-on emblem instead of painting a logo?

plain and simple. pad printing/stencil painting is more durable than vinyl stickers. sticers are more susceptible to being scraped off.
