Blinking overheat light when temperature is normal
So I have this problem I am hoping some had before or knows the solution to. This has happened to me twice so far.
Sometimes when I drive my car the red light on the 'hot' end of the temperature gauge (right side) start blinking even though the needle on the temperature gauge shows that the car's internal coolent temperature is only around 190 degrees or so, which based on the meter is the middle 3rd of the temperature gauge - well within normal.
When I park the car and get out the fan in front sounds like it's on full blast.
I can't figure out what the problem is... any suggestions? Thanks!

I saw a puddle on the floor on the driver's side of the engine bay this morning. I refilled the coolant tank from the dealer - if I see coolant this afternoon when I leave work - I guess Carlsen will get some extra dough from me this week - or next.

sounds good to me!
I can put you down for next week Wednesday with a Porsche loaner if you'd like
(You can top if off with regular tap water)

I have mine in for service to have the expansion tank/cap replaced right now. I saw the blinking light a few days ago, and topped off the coolant to keep running. I also saw the temperature indicator start heading toward the right of 180. I pretty much knew what I was in for just from reading about this issue on this forum.
My mechanic must think I'm prescient because I have been pre-empting many of his suggestions.

Somewhere I heard you have to drop the whole engine to get to that part...
Sharky - if that's true, what else should they look into installing while it's out?
