JIC cross sport suspension versus Bilstein Pss9

Hi guys after that great run on malibu canyon, i am seriously contemplating on a coilover steup for my 996 ,

it's an 02 996 c2..

i love the jic cross suspenion on ron's (rodis) car the stiffness is fine for me..

i may be a bel to get a good deal on a set of JIC CROSS SPORT SUSPENSION FOR THE N/A 996 it usually retails for around 1900 buxs i think. what are your opinions on this suspension, i will not be tracking teh car taht often , but i will partake in the canyon runs once ina while with the socal and lucent boys

is this suspension worth it eventhough i cannot adjust the dampers on it?

also what are teh benefits of teh pss9 suspension? i have heard great things about it but i have not been able to ride ina car equipped with the pss9's

help me decide can you please give me a pro and con about the two suspensions.. also what is the price on teh pss9's is tehre a site where i can readu up on it?

thanks for all your help in advance.

(ron) afetr riding on your TT... i can't help upgrade my suspension... you are a bad influence lol (just kidding) thanks again for the ride in your superb driving machine

Hey Joe,
Check out JIC's site, in their specials they have this listed:
Porsche 996 Non turbo sport coil over suspension 1 set $1980- only $1287

Great deal, but no adjustable dampening...I've seen the PSS9 kits go for $1900

just a heads up...

I have installed JIC for my white C2 cab. I thought that was too stiff but after crazy Malibu run on Sat........I am starting to like it with 15" Brembo brake.

I am telling you I have had same problem as you have now. Get JIC. You will like it.

Joe,

I have the PSS9's on my cab; I absolutely love them, not that you will be adjusting them constantly, but having the option to do so is nice....just my 2 cents worth..
i hope that helps... big grin

Have JIC on 02 C2 and love it, don't think the PSS9's have the camber plates up front that are great for DE's and canyon runs.
15 way adjustable is great and ride on the street is fine. Go for the JIC's as if you ever do a DE or TT you'll be happier...

Henry,

the stiff ride is okay with me , i used to drive lowered japanese cars, so the stifness isn't a biggie.

what kind of JIC suspension do u have do you have teh JIC cross SPORT or teh fullr ace one with the dampner adjustment?

i loved how the JIC handled on the canyon run

tuningwerks, - yes i saw that clearnace add, that is one of the reasons why i want to get it, that's a good price

will the dampner adjustment be impt? is it worth paying the extra$$ for that?

Has anyone tried the New JIC setup with the softer springs. I am very interested in the

7kg/10kg or the 8kg/12kg

Can anyone direct me in the right direction for my C2?
TIA

I have the new JIC's with 15 way adjustments and camber plates up front. They have the helper springs and the ride on the street is acceptable and you can dial in as much neg camber up front without having to lower the car too much. These are more expensive though, around 3100.00 w/o installation.
